South African Airways (SAA) is South Africa’s national carrier and a Star Alliance member, hubbed at O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg with a secondary base in Cape Town. Since its 2020-21 restructuring, SAA now operates a leaner all-Airbus fleet — including A350-900s and A330s — to a smaller, focused network of around 18 destinations in 13 countries. From Tanzania, it flies daily between Johannesburg and Dar es Salaam.
