Emirates has flown out of Dubai since 1985 and now operates the world’s largest fleet of both the Boeing 777 and Airbus A380 — an all-widebody operation with no economy-cabin compromises even on shorter regional hops. Online check-in opens 48 hours before departure and closes 90 minutes prior. Airport counters generally open 3 hours before departure and close 60–90 minutes before; Dubai-departing passengers can drop bags up to 24 hours early.
Baggage Allowance
On weight-concept routes, Economy includes 30kg checked, Business 40kg, First 50kg. On piece-concept routes (parts of the Americas and Africa), Economy gets 1 or 2 pieces of 23kg depending on fare, Business/First 2 pieces of 32kg each. Skywards elite members receive extra allowance on weight-concept routes.
Excess baggage: rates depend on route and whether bags are overweight, oversized, or both — best confirmed at booking or with your local Emirates office.
Sports & special equipment: golf clubs, skis and surfboards travel within your normal checked allowance up to 300cm total dimensions; bicycles need at least 24 hours’ notice before you fly.
Traveling as a group? Emirates’ group travel desk covers parties of 10+ on the same flight and itinerary — requests need to go in at least 30 days ahead, so let us know early and we’ll handle it.
