Founded in 1919, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines is the oldest airline still flying under its original name and the flag carrier of the Netherlands. As a founding SkyTeam member and part of the Air France–KLM Group, it serves around 145 destinations from Amsterdam Schiphol. For Tanzania, KLM operates a direct Amsterdam–Kilimanjaro–Dar es Salaam routing on the same aircraft, giving the country one of its few genuinely direct links to Europe.

Manage Your Booking & Check-in
Already booked with KLM? Look up your trip using your booking reference to manage it or check in online — both are handled through the same portal.
Manage Booking & Check-in (Official)
Online check-in generally opens roughly 24–30 hours before departure, depending on route and fare; exact airport counter cutoffs vary by station.
Baggage Allowance
Allowance depends on the fare booked: Light fares include no checked bag, Standard/Flex fares include 1 checked item up to 23kg. Business Class typically includes a higher allowance. Cabin baggage: Standard/Flex/Light ticket holders get a small bag plus 1 piece of hand baggage; Basic tickets include only the small bag.
Excess baggage: roughly $30–60 for a first extra bag, $54–230 for additional bags, and $84–143 for overweight bags (23–32kg), depending on route.
Sports & special equipment: a set of golf, fishing, ski or snowboard equipment can replace one piece of checked luggage at no extra cost; beyond that, special item fees apply (roughly €55 within Europe, €100–125 on intercontinental routes) and heavier or bulkier gear needs a reservation at least 48 hours ahead.
