Flying Precision Air within Tanzania? Here’s everything in one place — routes, baggage rules, and a direct link to manage your booking or check in, no digging through help pages required.
Precision Air started out in 1993 as a small charter operator and has grown into one of Tanzania’s largest private airlines, hubbed at Dar es Salaam with a secondary base at Kilimanjaro. Kenya Airways has held a minority stake since 2003, supporting codeshare cooperation between the two. Precision Air operates an all-turboprop fleet across an extensive domestic network — Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Kilimanjaro, Arusha, Mwanza, Mtwara, Tabora, Dodoma, Bukoba, Kahama and Seronera — plus regional flights to Nairobi and Entebbe.

Quick Facts
Manage Your Booking & Check-in

Manage Booking & Check-in (Official)
Airport counters open 2 hours before domestic departures (closing 45 minutes prior) and 3 hours before international departures (closing 1 hour prior).
Baggage Allowance
As a regional turboprop carrier with no separate business cabin, Precision Air’s allowance is straightforward: 23kg checked baggage on all routes, plus 1 cabin bag up to 7kg. Infants not occupying a seat get 10kg plus a collapsible stroller.
Excess baggage: charged at standard per-kilogram rates once you’re over your 23kg allowance — ask us for the current rate on your route.
Sports & special equipment: golf bags and similar gear generally fit within your normal allowance; bicycles always attract a special-handling fee regardless of weight, and golf equipment over 20kg is billed per extra kilogram. Kayaks and canoes aren’t accepted as baggage.
Traveling as a group? Precision Air is a common choice for safari groups moving between Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar, Arusha and the northern circuit airstrips — we can block-book seats for larger parties.
